Before you book.

What kind of training does Line of Reasoning offer?

Speaking and persuasion training for professionals and the organizations they work in. Your people learn to answer clearly, keep it brief, handle unexpected questions, and make a convincing case, in client meetings, pitches, negotiations, and internal discussions.

There are four formats: the Lunch Session, the Workshop, Private Coaching, and specialized new graduate training.

Is this debate training?

No, although the method comes from competitive debate. Debaters learn to organise a thought in seconds and deliver it under a time limit. We use the same kind of practice to help professionals speak clearly in everyday work, not to win formal debates.

Who is the training for?

Anyone whose work depends on speaking clearly and persuasively: people who brief colleagues, answer clients, pitch ideas, negotiate, or lead teams, at any stage of their career, including new graduates starting out. Private Coaching is open to anyone looking to improve their speaking, as an ongoing series or to prepare for a specific event.

Where do sessions take place?

In your offices in Toronto, or remotely by video. Every format can be delivered either way.

How long are the sessions, and how many people can attend?

The Lunch Session runs 90 minutes and suits a full team or department. The Workshop is a half day for up to sixteen people, so everyone gets real time speaking. Private Coaching is one-on-one, arranged by engagement. The new graduate training can run as a full day, a condensed session, or a series of lunch-and-learns.

Is the training tailored to our organization?

Yes. Exercises are drawn from the situations your people actually face: client calls, internal meetings, pitches, and hard questions. Before a session, we ask what those situations look like in your organization.

Who leads the sessions?

Rudi Lof, a former litigator, law firm partner, and award-winning debater who has taught speaking for more than a decade, together with a small group of trainers he has selected and trained himself. More about Rudi.

How much does it cost?

Each engagement is quoted individually. The price depends on the format, the size of the group, and whether it is delivered in person or remotely. A short call is enough to give you a quote.

Can you work around our schedule?

Yes. Sessions are scheduled around your calendar, and longer programs can be split into shorter sessions, such as a series of lunch-and-learns.

How do we get started?

Book a short call using the form at the bottom of the home page, or by email at info [at] lineofreasoning.ca. We will ask where your people need to be sharper, and suggest the format that fits.

Still have a question?

A twenty-minute call is the quickest way to get an answer, and to find out whether we are the right fit.
